Electrodialysis (ED) is an electrochemical separation process in which ions are transferred through the selective membrane from a less concentrated solution to a more concentrated solution as a result of a potential difference between two electrodes. The reversibility of the process causes the system to be more efficient and the need for cleaning of the membranes is decreased.

Benefits are less rejection in a reverse osmosis, less suspended solids sensitivotu, long diaphragm life, easy operation and low power consumption.

PROTECMED can undertake several application with EDR technology include: desalination industrial wastewater, desalination & denitrification of drinking water, boiler water deionization (ultra pure water), desalination of food liquieds, acids concentration and desalination of landfill leachate.
